Verifying a device
Once encryption has been successfully set up as described here, any additional devices on which fairchat [matrix] is used should be verified. This is required in order to be able to decrypt messages consistently across all devices.
1) Sign in on another device
After signing in, the following dialogue will appear. Prerequisite: Encryption has already been set up.
There are several options for verifying another device:
a) Verify with another device
b) Verify with a security key or security phrase – if the security phrase has been set up as described here, it can be entered to verify other devices.
2) Verify with another device
If an active session exists on a device, it can be used to verify the new device.
To do this, a verification request is sent within the active session. Confirm this by clicking Verify session.
3) Verify the other device
For verification, the emojis must be compared and confirmed by clicking They match:

By clicking on the profile icon (top left) > All Settings (Settings) > Sessions (Sessions), all sessions can be viewed and verified from there as well.
