How do I share my screen?

In the fairmeeting pro version, a screen or an application window can be shared.

In the basic fairmeeting.net version, a donation is requested when sharing the screen. Any amount is welcome. The Instant Upgrade is stored in the browser storage and is valid for 30 days only on the same device and with the same browser. If a privacy extension is installed in the browser, it may delete the entire browser storage as it would in a private browsing window — in that case, add an exception for the fairmeeting.net site so that the browser remembers the donation. On an Apple device, you may first need to grant permission to share the screen. To do so, click the Apple logo in the top left of the menu bar and select System Settings. In the sidebar, go to Privacy & Security and click on Screen Recording on the right. Find your browser in the list (e.g. Google Chrome, Firefox, Microsoft Edge). Tick the checkbox next to the browser name to grant permission.

If the laptop's performance is somewhat limited or the bandwidth is insufficient, the shared image may appear pixelated when the video camera is also active — it may therefore be worth keeping it switched off. To ensure that participants with limited bandwidth, who may not be receiving any video at all, can still follow a presentation, it is advisable to make the slides available in parallel, for example on faircloud.eu, and share the download link in the chat.
