How do I record a conference?

The built-in recording feature requires a subscription for pro.fairmeeting.net. The recording can be started from the menu under the three dots by a person who is a moderator (identifiable by the M symbol). The start of the recording is announced to all participants with an audio notification. A moderator can also grant the M permission to others.

A recording must be started in a Chrome / Chromium browser and can last a maximum of approximately 100 minutes. The recording is saved locally on your own PC/laptop (stop the recording before ending the conference!).

The recording can then be uploaded, for example, to faircloud or to fair.tube and shared privately or publicly from there. The option for recordings to be immediately available on a fairkom server is no longer available, also for privacy reasons.

It is also possible to record the conference locally using your own screencasting software. For Chrome, there is the handy browser extension RecordRTC. On Linux, Kazam has proven reliable. Always carry out a test beforehand to ensure that the audio (Speaker setting) is also included.
