Mastodon is not a single service but a technology operated by many providers, much like email. It consists of many individual instances that exchange data via the ActivityPub protocol.
fairmove.net is one of them, operated in Europe on fairkom's Kubernetes cluster with its own external storage for images and short videos.
This makes fairmove part of the Fediverse, which also includes the video platform fair.tube.
